Original Grain Watch Co.
ROLE: LEAD DESIGNER
The Grainmaster collection was inspired and designed based on the sleek shape and dynamic curves of the classic Ford GT40. It was also the first collection the Original Grain Watch Co launched to compete in a higher price point watch market. Tasked with designing all the web assets for this launch, including a gated page, homepage, shoppable landing page, custom product description pages, emails, and affiliate banners, I wanted to make sure the true craftsmanship of the watches was brought through in a clean and refined style, focusing heavily on clean product beauty photography, while being able to tell the consumer the design story behind the watch. Using subtle pairings of specific details of the watch paired with details of the car that were the inspiration, I wanted to visually be able to capture the consumer's eye to tell that story with not only words, but with the striking campaign photography from Jose Coli.
CUSTOM PRODUCT PAGES
Since this was the first time Original Grain had launched two different watch designs that also had two different watch movements within the same collection, separate product description page layouts were needed that allowed each style to highlight what made it unique. The movements in each were the biggest differences, with one featuring Swiss automatic movement and a self-winding oscillating weight (setting it at a higher price point), and the other using a chronograph movement with a Tachymetre etched into the bezel to measure speed-over-time. Keeping those qualities in mind, I wanted to maintain macro beauty product photography on each respective page towards the top as call-outs that really focused on these differences, and let the specifications section below speak to the finer details. Finally, end the page with a re-hit of the inspiration of these watch designs with a small design story and a final pairing of a beauty shot of each selected design paired with a dynamic and striking angle photo by Jose Coli of the GT40

SUPPORTING CAMPAIGN EMAILS
These emails were designed to tease and then announce the launch of the Grainmaster collection. For the teaser emails, I wanted to lean more into the inspiration behind the watch to build up excitement for the watch itself by only showing the case wall of the side of the watch paired with the inspiration of the design itself, the GT40, and also mimic the flickering of an auto shop light before it fully turns on. The following launch emails showcase the collection and dive deeper into the design inspiration and how the shapes of the GT40 played an integral role in shaping the contours and design of the Grainmaster collection.
